The children were encouraged to construct / build their own structures as a group after we read the book "Goodnight, Goodnight, Construction Site". Their collaborative efforts made two creatively beautiful houses. They made sure that they have lighting in them. The children are showing how easy it is to mix colors to make a new one. Each one was given a secondary color and they needed to figure out which colors to mix to get it. The book "The Black Book of Colors" challenged the children on feeling, smelling and imagining colors in their minds. They felt the pictures with their hands and imagined what colors those images have.

The children continue to explore light by going outside and looking at their own shadows. They were all creative with their poses! Light can bring out different colors if it goes through glass. The children found out how to make different colors by mixing primary colors together to get new colors! Their creative juices started flowing as they created their own light, like robot light, unicorn light, cracker light, different kinds of flashlights, etc. We had a treat on Friday when Vanesa came for Show and Tell and shared to us their pet hamster named Bianca. They showed us what she eats and told us that hamsters don't need light as they are awake at night doing things they love doing, like running! The children again had a treat spending some moments in the day with their parents. In our second ELC Open House this year, each child was able to showcase different skills and showing how well they perform in different activities. The parents' participation inspired the children to display more of what they are learning. It was a wonderful day to celebrate Learning!
Thank you parents for making time! |
