A fun fun day as we celebrate winter with a concert about Earth. The children dedicated their performances on how we can contribute in taking care of our environment. It is the best day for Santa to come too and give them gifts for a great performance! Watch the video of our Winter Concert :) Our festive week ended with a wonderful parade for "Sta. Lucia". St. Lucy's day is a celebration of Scandinavian countries every 13th of December that coincides with the winter solstice. After an enchanting parade, everyone had a share of delicious buns. We have completed our Preschool storybook entitled "The Giraffe In The House". The children had a few ideas for the title of their book. We had to vote and choose the one they liked most. We counted the votes and they chose "The Giraffe In The House" that had the biggest number. Each one created a cover for their own copies of the book. We have our book displayed on our bulletin board and the original on the ELC PYP Wall, on the hallway going to the cafeteria. Check it out! We had a discussion about Santa in class and the children shared what they like for Christmas. This gave an opportunity for everyone to write to Santa and tell him what gift they want to receive. The children were able to write "Dear Santa" on their letter with a drawing of the gift. We are getting ready for our Winter Concert. The children have been practicing well and each one is doing their parts really well! Every week the children go to the library for some book shopping. They have their own book bags and we keep them in the classroom. They "read" the books whenever they have time. They have learned to choose a variety of three books every time. |
