The children continue to present their family trees this week and we saw a lot of their grandparents, aunties and uncles. Some children volunteered to look for some family members and point at them on the trees after their classmates presented them. Aki and Tomoko came to class and showed the children how to make some origami crafts. The children were able to fold a dog using colorful papers. Aki demonstrated how Kendama is used. She showed how one needs balance and coordination to be able to learn and enjoy this fun Japanese toy. The children were all mesmerized by the sound of Russian words as Olga read Russian books about animals and the love between mommy rabbit and baby rabbit. The children expressed some of the words Olga read through the actions she demonstrated to them. They enjoyed good books that day. As the children learn more words to express themselves, they are starting to tell more about the things they bring to school for Show n' Tell. To give more time for the children to to describe, tell stories about their items and ask questions, we split the class into two groups. Below is the schedule and their groups for the coming weeks till end of term. A new schedule will be given the coming term.
